NYC vs. Photographers
NYC has amended their proposal some that would require photographers and videographers who want to shoot in public places to get a permit and proof of $1,000,000 in liability insurance. This would greatly restrict the ability to shoot freely in places like subways, etc. I've heard the reasoning both as a liability issue and a security issue, the truth is that it's probably a income issue and bottom line, we are still in America and have the right to shoot in any public location we choose.

And, here's an online petition asking the City of NY not to impose this new law. PETITION TO THE CITY OF NY I'm not usually one for petitions, but I believe this is one worthy of signing.
